an everyday occurrence

an everyday occurrence by Hailey Tran is a book of poetry that offers a raw and unflinching look at how everyday systems and cultural norms are designed to inflict harm on femme lives. It unravels power, identity, and resistance through striking, honest poetry.

Due to the complex nature of the content, I wanted to offer additional visual perspectives which led me to collaborate with fellow designer, Natahsha Priya. Ultimately our collaboration led to this mix of two of our concepts - something that felt mysterious and tactile - like a journal entry. A shared experience that is so personal yet ubiquitous across cultures - much like gendered violence.
