My Dear Cult Leader

My Dear Cult Leader is a book of poetry that addresses power, harm, and survival within intimate relationships. Through metaphor and personal reflection, the poems sit with pain without turning away from it, while also making room for resilience. The book traces a journey of connection, self-rebuilding, and the slow reclaiming of one’s sense of self.

From the very beginning, Aly and I were creatively in sync when it came to the design of the cover. She had visual references that she hoped to include and it immediately evoked a vision of this cover. As a result, it’s a cover that feels vulnerable, even haunting, but strong and resilient.
